Berkshire sells around $1.48 billion Bank of America shares, filing shows

Berkshire Hathaway has sold approximately 33.9 million shares of a major bank in multiple transactions this week, generating around $1.48 billion. Post-sale, Berkshire still holds approximately 999 million shares in the bank. The conglomerate, led by Warren Buffett, became a shareholder in the bank in 2011, investing $5 billion in preferred stock and warrants. The company also has investments in other banks, including Wells Fargo & Co and JPMorgan Chase. Berkshire Hathaway is a significant shareholder in the Charlotte, North Carolina-based bank.
